Our Story
The club was founded in 1995 by the great, Bruce Kahler and his wife Sue. The Kahlers moved from Australia to St. Augustine with their 1956 Coral Red VW Beetle. He instilled the community atmosphere and the desire to keep the club completely free. Prior to Bruce’s passing, he passed the torch to Sean Bielman and Brian Batzel who took the St. Augustine VW Club and coined the club name: Old City Oil Drippers (OCOD). We have NO membership fees, and stand by our underlining mantra and slogan: “Taking the Dues out of VWs!”
Our Mission
We are active in the community supporting local businesses through our cruises and monthly gatherings. We organize Fundraisers twice a year to support the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation Company, with supporters like Tom Bush Volkswagen, Vw of St Augustine and ArianBuhler Design.
Our Future
Moving forward our goal is to grow our club. To give people who are new to the area the ability to connect with a community of car aficionados, local businesses and have an outlet for families to come to gather and support this community as well as the community of St Augustine.
